bhibatsa (disgust)

One of the Navarasa's in Dance. I perceive this as the most intense of many emotions.

Very often we come across situations where in goodness is overshadowed by dominance of mediocrity, irritably so. Our voices raise to fall upon deaf ears, or if you get a little lucky, they resonate in vacuum. I've heard the cry of many 'unknowns', seen the colours of their disgust, learnt that indifference is the only treatment meted out to them. 'bhibatsa' is an outpour of disgust, on anything or anyone remotely 'ugly' in form.

மூன்று கால் முயலொன்று கண்டேன்
அது, திக்கி திசைமாறி சாவிறுபதை கண்டேன்.

காப்பாற்ற துடித்ததென் நெஞ்சம், அப்போது
கை தட்டி கரம் கொட்டி சிரிப்பதன் சத்தம்.
